Sam Neill Celebrates His Return To The Jurassic Park Franchise

Sam Neill returns…to Jurassic Park.

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen Dr. Alan Grant take on some dinosaurs. In fact, it’s been nearly 20 years since Jurassic Park III came out. I don’t know about you, but I really didn’t want that to be the last movie we see him in. Now, in Jurassic World: Dominion, we know he will be returning to the franchise, along with countless other Jurassic Park originals.

Actor Sam Neill, who plays Alan Grant in the franchise, recently took to Twitter to celebrate his return to the Jurassic series. Here’s what he had to say.

“Hold onto your hats- gettin’ my old one back on this week , and facing off dinosaurs once again. Best yet .Excited and terrified- these things will kill ya. With @LauraDern @BryceDHoward @prattprattpratt #JeffGoldblum @colintrevorrow. I’m obviously a little more …grizzled now..”

Sadly, we don’t really know what the role of Alan Grant or his contemporaries will be. In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, many of us were excited to see Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm to return, only to be disappointed. When all said and done, the actor had only a couple of scenes and one big speech at the end, none of which were completely essential to the story.

Based on comments from director Colin Trevorrow though, it sounds like we can expect Neill and co. to have better roles.

“We’d have had to come up with a reason why Ellie, Malcolm and Grant all went to the theme park on the exact same day it broke down – again,” Trevorrow told Empire last year. “The next film allows the legacy characters to be a part of the story in an organic way. Emily Carmichael and I call it Jurassic Park VI, because it is.”

So, you can bet your ass Sam Neill will l be doing some worthwhile stuff in the film. Here’s hoping it means the movie will actually be good.
