Some DC related Barside Buzz today as it’s rumored Superman will fight a doppelganger, but not Bizarro in James Gunn’s Superman. Whilst we know the main villain of Superman seems to be Lex Luthor, fans have wondered what other villains could show up? Will Lex don his super suit for the first time in live-action? Some fans want Brainiac, though there appears no rumors to suggest he’s in this film.
Well now Can we Get Some Toast has revealed to subscribers that Superman will fight an evil Doppelganger in the movie, created by Lex Luthor. The only thing they said about this clone, was that it is not Bizarro.
I guess when working out how to have an enemy match Superman it’s a relatively easy answer. Let’s have a Superman evil clone. Of course all this is just rumor and even if true depends greatly now how the story unfolds. So far James Gunn has not commented on this rumor, however it is very recent. If this is incorrect I would expect Gunn to debunk it. Gunn does not debunk all false claims, just 90% of them.

If Gunn denies this claim, we will of course update this article to reflect that. However, I do expect us to start getting a few details on Superman now it’s filming. This may just be the first rumor to filter out from set.
If this is true then I have nothing against the idea itself. Just as long as it’s not Superman III levels of evil Superman. I do wonder if going down this route why not use Bizarro unless he’s being kept for soemthing else? Ultimately this may be like a cross between Superman III and Superman IV, where if you recall Lex Created the awful Nuclear Man. The idea itself was never the issue, but the execution and I trust Gunn that we will believe the reasons behind this lore if this is legit.
Ultimately we have to wait and see for now whether this one checks out. In the meantime let us know what you think of this Buzz as it’s rumored Superman will fight a doppelganger, but not Bizarro in James Gunn’s Superman? Thoughts below as always.
