It’s always pleasant to spend an afternoon at a golf course, especially a special one at a municipal golf course lacking conventional rules in The Salamander King.
In this indie comedy, Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars, Superhero Movie) and Adrianne Palicki (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, John Wick) lead the cast of comedic misfits in their journey to save a run-down municipal golf course from being sold for development. The rest of the cast includes Dulce Sloan (Chick Fight, Baby Mama’s Club), Justin Chatwin, Reggie Bush, Temple Baker (Everybody Wants Some!!, Hill Country Stories), , Bill Wise (Waking Life, Boyhood), Brad Leland, Joe Hursley (Fast & Furious, Resident Evil: Extinction), Lilit Avagyan (Mirrors of Me), Bobo Hoang (One Dave at a Time, Assassin), and Christopher St. Mary (Bordersville II).
Austin Nichols directed the film from the screenplay written by Drew Mackintosh.
Here is the official synopsis for The Salamander King:
A municipal golf pro and his slacker friends band together to save their beloved golf course and way of life from extinction.
