VisionQuest Showrunner Teases Season 2 Ideas – Plus Chris Evans Confirms Return For Avengers: Secret Wars

Chris Evans confirms his return for Avengers: Secret Wars, plus VisionQuest showrunner teases there are ideas for a Season 2. Let’s begin with MCU mega star Chris Evans who of course returns to his role as Steve Rogers in December’s Avengers: Doomsday. It was always rumored/figured Evans would be back for Secret Wars, which begins filming this year. However, it seems the star has confirmed this at a recent fan event of some kind.

It’s a bit of a weird video we’ve linked here on Instagram. At first you may think I’ve linked the wrong video. However, the person making this video plays audio from somewhere (she won’t yet say) that definitely sounds like Chris Evans telling fans he will be back for filming on the next one (Avengers) this year.

It may be a little weird/cringe, but I do think this is legit. Maybe I’m a fool for doing so in this AI world? But no, I think we all knew he was returning and there’s no need to keep that secret any longer.

Onto our second part of today’s Marvel news and VisionQuest showrunner Terry Matalas has teased fans about the possibility of a Season 2. As we all know, Wonder Man become only the third Marvel series to get a Season 2 after Loki and Daredevil: Born Again. Additionally, though unofficial, VisionQuest is kind of a Season 3 in itself. Part 1 being WandaVision and part 2 being Agatha All Along.

Here’s what Matalas said when he spoke to The Direct recently when asked if there could be a Season 2?

“I think that’s up to the Marvel and Disney Gods. It doesn’t necessarily have to [stand on its own]. There is a group of characters in situations that are certainly on their own island, if you will. Trying to figure out how to say this… You could very much see these characters again, if you want.”

It sounds like Matalas has some ideas and might be keen on a Season 2 of VisionQuest. However, as he points out, that is not really up to him. It may very well depend on how VisionQuest is received by viewed on Disney+? VisionQuest is out sometime in 2026, that’s all we know for now.

To connect both our stories today, Matalas was saying nothing when asked if anything in VisionQuest sets up Doomsday, which likely will drop (December) just after the show finishes, or whilst it’s still running.

“That I can’t comment on at all.”

Who knows, I guess we will find out when VisionQuest drops?

What do you think of the news around Chris Evans returning for Avengers: Secret Wars and the VisionQuest showrunner teasing possible Season 2 ideas? Thoughts below.
