Later this year we will see the return of a beloved dim-witted duo in Bill and Ted. Now Variety is reporting that Beavis and Butthead. The show will now air on Comedy Central instead of its old home over at MTV.
ViacomCBS entertainment and youth group as president, Chris McCarthy:
“We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on adult animation at Comedy Central. Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world lightyears from their own.”

Creator Mike Judge:
“It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again.”
I actually thought the season in 2011 was great, and have since wondered why it didn’t stay on the air then. He’s probably right about that one. Back before South Park and Family Guy, Beavis and Butthead were at the forefront of animated adult comedies. As well as early purveyors of crude humor and characters that probably aren’t the best role models.
Judge also created the wildly successful King of the Hill that aired on Fox for 12 seasons. He has also had success on the big screen, most notably with the cult classic Office Space, but I actually prefer Idiocracy. If you haven’t seen either or both of those, I’d certainly recommend you do so at your earliest convenience.
