Get Ready For Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Reveal

A couple of weeks ago Warner Bros. Games and DC dropped a bombshell about what they were going to announce at DC FanDome. The teaser image featured the Man of Steel himself, with a target on his head. The target was made up of the words “Suicide Squad”. Yesterday near the end of the day’s presentation they revealed that Rocksteady Studios are working on the new title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. You can check out the trailer above!

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League

Rocksteady is the same studios that created the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham series. Now with this new title, they are looking to crank up the action. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is described as a new genre-bending action-adventure shooter that can be played by yourself or with up to four players in online co-op. It will combine the studio’s signature character-driven story gameplay with third-person shooter action to deliver a gaming experience unlike any other.

One interesting detail about this game is that it takes place in the same DC world that the Arkham series did. The big difference is that this game will take place in Gotham City but Metropolis. Their impossible mission to save Earth, apparently from Brainiac, involves them killing the world’s greatest DC superheroes, the Justice League. Sadly the Suicide Squad has no choice but to comply as Amanda Waller has restrained these villains with lethal explosives implanted in their heads.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, can be played in multiple ways. You can enjoy it as a single-player, switching between characters at will. Or you can team up with friends in multiplayer co-op. Your choices of playable characters are Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark. Each of these characters have their own unique moveset with enhanced traversal abilities to freely explore the open-world of Metropolis. Not to mention a variety of weapons to customize and skills to master.

“Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League showcases Rocksteady Studios’ ability to combine masterful storytelling and compelling gameplay based on well-known DC characters,” said David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Games. “The team is creating a genre-defining experience that brings the formidable Suicide Squad to life in a way that has never been done before.”

“Our team is excited to officially announce Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and provide a glimpse into our latest project,” said Sefton Hill, Creative Director and Co-founder, Rocksteady Studios. “We’re introducing an original take on the Suicide Squad that combines the rich, character-driven storytelling Rocksteady is known for with innovative gameplay features to create a unique gaming experience.”

This game looks like a lot of fun. It’s been great to play as Batman for years now, but it will be amazing to play as other characters. Specifically some of the villains that DC has pushed to the top via feature films, comics, and animated films. I also like the clever way that they wrote it up. So that we will be justified in taking down the Justice League.
